Introduction: At first, the birds are chirping, the dogs are barking, white picket fences, brand new Lamborghinis, beach-front properties. Love is in the air, but then comes lies, greed, and cheating, which turns a beautiful marriage into ugly, bloody, and expensive. We know that not all marriages have a happy ending, especially those of the rich and famous: athletes and celebrities. That’s why we bring you Celebrity Divorce Gore, filling you in on all the divorces of the celebrities. Welcome to Celebrity Divorce Gore.

Geoff Carter: Hello, and welcome to another Celebrity Divorce Gore. I am your host, Geoff Carter. If you’d like to learn more about me, you can always visit geoffcarter.net, but my parents named me a little differently after my uncle over from Australia, and he spells his name with a G. Same thing with me. G-E-O-F-F-carter.net. G-E-O-F-F-carter.net.

Anyway, so I’ve done some athletes. I’ve done some movie actresses and actors, and today, I’m going to talk about an amazing man. Talented with his voice and talented with his body. I’m pretty sure that he’s worshipped by many, many women of all time for his sensual chocolateness, and, I mean, I grew up to his music, and I’ve made love to some of his music as a matter of fact, and who that is is Mr. Usher Raymond. Usher, guy’s got a lot success and a lot of money. Of course, you know, money comes with success normally. Recording artist Usher Raymond.

Also, got to give him music, actor, and I’m trying to think of what he was in. Was he in a couple of scary movies? I know, I’m a horrible researchist, aren’t I? Usher has a net worth of a whopping 110 million dollars. Born in Texas, but raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Usher’s family recognizes his vocal talent as early on, of course, and moved the family once more to Atlanta where Usher began a series of small recordings and appearances, guest vocals, during his youth.

Starting when he was only 16 years of age, Usher has released six studio albums. His last three albums have consecutively debuted at the number one position on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Five of his albums last have been certified platinum by the RIAA. That includes “My Way,” “8701,” “Confessions,” “Here I Stand,” with “Confessions” selling over ten million copies and achieving a diamond, bling-bling, a diamond certification in the United States of America. His ten hit number-one singles include “You Remind Me,” that’s off “8701” album, “OMG,” and yeah, “Confessions,” which reached number one across nine countries. Not one country, but nine countries, and began the best performing single of 2004 in the United States.

Usher has contributed to many more songs and albums besides his own, having been featured in songs such as “How Much.” That’s with Mariah Carey, same girl with R. Kelly and first answered during the highly-talented young boy, Justin Bieber. Among his awards are four American Music Awards, that’s AMA’s, five Grammy Awards, and nineteen Billboard Awards.
As an actor, Usher has made appearances in many notable titles including “Moesha,” “The Faculty,” “She’s All That,” and “In the Mix.” Usher’s side projects include U.S. Records, which he established, co-ownership of the professional national basketball association team Cleveland Cavaliers, and founding New Look, a non-profit organization.

Usher’s 2004 album “Confessions” sold over ten million copies in the United   States, has been certified diamond by the RIAA, like I told you. “Confessions” has the highest first week’s sales of an R&B artist in history. When you think of an R&B artist, that’s a lot. You’re taking about Genuwine, R. Kelly, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, and so many, many, many, many other ones. It spawned four consecutive number one hits off that album alone. That’s “Yeah,” “Burn,” “Confessions, Part 2,” and “My Boo.” You know, that’s with Alicia Keys, a beautiful, talented musical right there. Boy, she is just incredible with her voice. I love it. Anyway, it’s lead single, “Love in this Club,” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The RIAA ranks Usher as one of the best selling artists in American music history, having sold over 23 million copies in the United   States alone.

To date, he has sold over 65 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling music artists of all time. Usher has won numerous awards, including eight Grammys. At the end of 2009, Usher was named the number one Hot 100 artists of the 2000s decade. Wow, that’s ten years, Usher’s… Wow. That’s crazy. Number one. Billboard named him one of the second most successful artists in the 2000s decade, and with his 2004 album, “Confessions,” being ranked as the top solo album of the 2000s decade, Billboard also places Usher at number 6 on their list of top 50 R&B artists in the past 25 years. That’s a lot of people on that list, I’ll tell you. Usher and his dance move, so sexy. Not for me, of course, for women. But Usher has attained 9 top 100 number one hits, all as a lead artist, of course, and has attained 18 Hot 100 top ten hits.

Usher says there’s a lot of people that were against his marriage. A ton. A lot of his friends including somebody kind of important in a person’s life, and to me, I don’t know what I would do in certain instances where I’ve got, like, really close friends, or, like, my grandma from England. Like, her opinion means a lot, and I think if she doesn’t like the girl I’m dating right now, I don’t know what I’ll do. I’m kind of scared about it, but the person I’m talking about is Usher’s mom, Jonetta. She was a no-go from the beginning. Doesn’t like her. Didn’t even attend their wedding. What would you feel if your mom’s not even at your own wedding? That’s crazy. That’s crazy.

But another thing that Usher kind of messed up is, when you involve friends or family in business, nine times out of ten, it’s going to go wrong, and he decided he was going to have Jonetta as his manager. Well, he fired her. Goodbye, Mom. I’ll see you at your house for some meatloaf, but you ain’t managing me no more. I don’t know, they had to let her go.

He sugarcoated the firing saying that he would’ve understood that the public would see it as him firing his mother due to her not attending the wedding because of his timing, but he claims that was not the case. He said she simply wanted to move into the role as grandmother instead of being a manager, which I guess that makes sense, too. The two heavy rocky relationships since Tameka came into the picture and Jonetta being overprotective, but there’s still trying to, like, work things out with him and his mom even after the divorce.

So the question is, Usher, why did your marriage go bad? Why did you leave? Was it because your mom didn’t like her or your friends didn’t like it, or was it cheating? My question is how do you date a sexy black man like himself? How do you do that? How do you do that not worried about him being with all these beautiful actresses and dancers surrounding him, and not to mention all those groupy fans. I’m sure he’s got gazillions of them. How’s he do it?

So of course, Oprah had asked him, was cheating involved? After a long explanation, he says no. However, he contradicts that answer in a little while here. Usher said he confided in other women emotionally about his ups and downs, but while he and Tameka were separated, he indeed had relationships with others, but that was technically not cheating, I guess, because they were separated. I don’t know exactly how that works. But anyway, he admitted he was lost during this time. I thought he was. He was lost in some snatch. He admitted this is true, in so many words. He explained he and the bridesmaid, oh no, were friends for a long time, and she had been in his son’s life since the beginning. He claims it occurred after the marriage, which, the definition of this was separation.

So, another question he was asked is, do you listen to your own music while making love and having sex? Some may say this is rather narcissistic, but, yeah, I do. Usher has also said he puts a playlist in specific order. It also includes Teddy Pendergrass, and of course, he ends it with his own song, “Climax.” Okay. Usher says he has always made his sons his first priority since the day they were born. He’s just “Daddy” to them, and even though he didn’t have his own father in his life growing up, he knew he had to do what he had to do to become the best father possible, which is awesome. Which is awesome.

The reason why I’m talking about him and his kids is because, which is a rare thing, it doesn’t happen with many people, especially the people I’m surrounded by, but when the father works full-time and the mother doesn’t or works part-time, it’s real, real rare unless, like, you know, drugs are passed or crime or something come into play, it’s really rare to see the father get custody, but he got them, and she’s pissed, to say the least. Extremely upset, and of course, she’s going to appeal this whole thing I’m pretty sure, or so she says she’s going to, because she feels it’s unfair that he’s got it, especially when he pretty much leaves them with the mother, grandmother, and, you know, everybody, and, oh, the aunt’s another one that watches them. Oh, and a nanny, too.

Jonetta, his mom, said she has been sad for eight years, mainly because she doesn’t like her. Didn’t like Tameka at all. That’s bad, like, I don’t know how this house, Christmas and all that, or if she even at Christmas, because she didn’t even attend the wedding. That’s crazy. I don’t know, and she also says, to make it even better, that she does not regret at all for not being at the wedding. That’s crazy to me. That’s so crazy, but I don’t know. She did say, she never said, I told you so, but she did say he should have listened, so that’s pretty much the same thing.

In 2001, Usher began dating TLC member Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, that was before, who had a child with producer Dallas Austin. Their relationship lasted for two years. They broke up in December 2003 followed by a media frenzy surrounding the personal nature of Usher’s fourth album, “Confessions.” Obviously he was pretty passionate about this CD, and it was about his own life. His fans inferred the reason he and Thomas split is due to infidelity, oh no, more cheating, giving allusions to the lyrics of his songs in an interview on the Birth Show, an Atlanta radio channel Q100.

In February 2004, Thomas claimed that Usher cheated on her. Usher did the ultimate no-no, she said. I will never be with him again, and that is that. Usher defended, “It just didn’t work out, but cheating is not what caused the relationship to collide and crash. That ain’t what broke it up.” Usher adapted a vegetarian diet, also, after his father’s death. I know this is all sporadic, but I know you like it, right? Yeah, you like it. You love my show.

But anyway, Usher adopted his vegetarian diet after his father died. He had a heart attack. After several years, Usher dropped all egg and dairy products, embracing an entirely vegan diet for health loss and health reasons. See, I’ve been trying to do that, but I just don’t see myself cutting out meat. I just love meat. I love my chicken, I love my hamburgers, I love my pork chops, I love my steak, I love all that, man. I love it all. That’s some good stuff right there.

He also encouraged Justin Bieber, who, by the way, was signed by Usher, which is a huge move financially and, you know, work-wise, it’s just a smart move. He encourages it on Justin Bieber and Selena. I don’t know if they’re… I don’t see them being vegan or whatever, but I could be wrong. He has been cited in numerous vegan restaurants in New York.

Usher founded New Look, a non-profit charity organization which he aims to provide young people with a new look on life through education and real-world experience. It’s flagship project, CampNew York, ran from July 11 to July 23, 2005 at ClarkAtlantaUniversity. In 2006, the charity started an initiative called Our Block which helped rebuild and revitalize city blocks in New   Orleans. The project went one street at a time, and the funding was helped through part of proceeds by Usher’s team-up with Armani Exchange and creating Love for Live dog tags, which were made available at the company’s stores and web sites.

In 1999, Usher participated in Challenge for the Children, a benefit basketball game hosted by American boy band ‘N Sync, a very pretty big deal there. The event, which was held on a campus of GeorgetownUniversity, had raised an estimated 50 thousand dollars for several local charities. In 2005, Usher was one among the artists who signed in for the Hurricane Katrina relief concert.

See, this guy gives back. He’s a great dad. He’s just, you know, not committed to relationships. He’s committed to his music and getting laid, I guess, apparently. He has performed at public service announcements to promote Do Something’s campaign for civic engagements, so he’s very active, you know, with the community and fund raising, which is cool, because, you know, there’s a lot of celebrities that just don’t “find time,” you know what I’m saying? They’re always too busy, but Usher at least gives back.

So the question is, okay, well we know about Usher. We know he’s a baller. We know he’s sexy as hell. We know that he’s active in the community. We know that he’s very talented, and we love his music, but who is this Tameka Foster? I’ve never heard of her. As a matter of fact, I had to Google her, and I found some things, but it just wasn’t a lot. Like she’s just somebody that was, like, found off the map, and I wonder if that’s for success reasons. I mean, I say not in this case, but most of the time, is it easier to date somebody that’s not a superstar, actress, actor, or whatever?

That makes sense, because, see, all that, they’re always busy, they’re always gone, and, you know, they’re always on the road. Like, when do you really know, you know, it’s an old thing. Like, he was cheating. How do you know when he’s not, you know, getting it in with somebody on his dance team or something? I mean, do you see many ugly people around these people. Nope. I’m not saying that ugly people aren’t great people, because we’re all great people.

But let me tell you the little bit I know about Tameka, which is like I said, a little bit. Tameka Foster attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 1994, followed by a merchandising marketing major in Los Angeles. Her professional career started with her employment as a sales person. She has also worked in management.

During her attendance at the Fashion Institute, Foster briefly worked for Armani, nice, in a retail store and since then has styled numerous international celebrities including one of the greatest rappers of all time, Jay Z, Ciara, Nas, and Mary J. Blige. Foster’s work as a stylist gained attention of network cable’s MTV, E!, and Access Hollywood. Nice, Foster, you snap on the hair-do action. Foster is credited as the founder of charity organization The Lost One’s Foundation, founded in 2009. This organization is a not-for-profit and serves as a motivational group for teenage girls, which is cool. We need all that.

But like I said, I mean, doesn’t this seem like, you know, she’s upset about the divorce, Usher getting kicked out of her house. It’s more about the kids. Like, you know, she’s just upset that this guy’s always busy and always gone and, you know, leaves them forever, but he also watched, but she can’t watch them? And I want to know, like, I don’t know if I can look that up or not, like how much she’s got to pay, because, obviously, if he’s watching them, or maybe he waives it. I wonder if he says, you know what, you don’t have to pay me child support.

That’s a good question. I wish I had him on my cell phone. I really don’t. I don’t have many celebrities on my phone. I have a couple. Yeah, I’m moving my way up. I’ll be there someday, but she’s blaming the judge, by the way. A biased judge, because, coincidentally, the judge they used, Usher’s lawyer’s law firm threw an election fundraiser back in 2008 for the judge who presided over the trial. Uh oh. And she obviously feels the connection may have influenced the ruling. Well, like he says in song, “My way.” Oh, Usher.

So, who’s next for Usher, I guess, and what’s going to happen to the kids? Does she have to pay for child support? I know I should know all this stuff. I’m a horrible host, aren’t I? I don’t know, that’s all the good stuff about Usher. 110 million dollar making boy right there. Dance moves, great vocals, and his face is pretty damn sexy. Straight up. He’s a good looking dude. I wish I looked like Usher. I mean, he’s chiseled like a nice little statue of chocolateness.

But, there you go, there’s all the dirtiness of the Usher and Tameka Foster marriage. Hopefully I fulfilled your knowledge on this divorce, but it’s no longer, and he will go on to be one of the greatest R&B artists and musicians of all time. I don’t know, I wouldn’t put him in there with actors, because I had to think twice, what was he even in? But, no offense Usher, if you’re listening, but there goes the divorce. Well thanks again for tuning to Celebrity Divorce Gore. Until next time, please take care.
